London Youth Advisory Council Receives $252,600 Ontario Trillium Foundation Grant

On Friday, local MPP Deb Matthews formally congratulated the London Youth Advisory
Council (LYAC) on receiving a three-year, $252,600 Grow grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation
(OTF) to expand its capacity to support young people. With, the OTF’s help, the LYAC will be better
equipped to help young people share their opinions with government, develop community connections,
and create community development projects that meet the needs of youth in their schools and
neighbourhoods.

“I’m delighted our government, through the Ontario Trillium Foundation, is supporting the growth of
LYAC. It’s so important that youth in our community have an opportunity to express their thoughts and
opinions with all levels of government and I’m thrilled we’re able to support them. I look forward to
learning more about their ideas and working with them in the future,” said Deb Matthews, MPP, London
North Centre.

“It is our fifth year of operations and we have built a strong core,” said Matt Ross, Executive Director of
LYAC. “But we are excited to see the growing impact this organization can have on young people in
London with the support of Ontario Trillium Foundation.”
